Aaron Treppa - St. Clair Shores, MI
Being from Michigan and Sunsation being in my home state, I had dreams as a kid that I'd own one someday. For one, they were awesome looking. Two, they were loud. And three, of course, they were fast!
In 2008 I had this great idea that I was going to buy a boat. I knew I couldn’t afford exactly what I dreamed of, so I started off with a 24' Mach 1, which turned out to be a good platform to start my boat building career. What started off as a basic looking boat turned into a building block of extensive fiberglass modifications as i tried to make my boat look like a Sunsation.
A few years later I purchased a 28' Nordic Heat and once again did heavy modifications trying to out do my previous creation. While I owned the Nordic, I started working in the marine industry doing electronics on everything from pontoon boats to 100 foot yachts. I had no idea this would lead to a career working at Sunsation Powerboats.
In 2019 I was hired into Sunsation, and quickly realized this is were I belonged. Only one problem, I still didn’t own one of there boats! This would soon change as I purchased a 2008 Dominator SSR late in 2020. I didn't own this boat for long because I found the boat of my dreams short after. A 2011 Dominator SSR limited edition, which I bought in the spring of 2021. This boat met every expectation I have had and then some. The build quality, attention to detail, and of course the performance is (I hate to be bias but...) second to none.
I'm proud to represent Sunsation on the water, and I'm honored to work for them even more. As a company they treat every employee like family. What I like most about the job is that I'm surrounded by amazing boats day in and out.
Some of my daily responsibilities working here include supervising the final rigging department, customer support, and as of recently attending events and getting to know our customers on a personal level. I'm also part of the team that water tests every boat, unless the lake/river is frozen.
So I get asked a lot of questions from our customers. One of the most asked is, are we ever going to build a sport boat again ? Im quick to answer we do build a sport boat, it just happens to have a center console!
Another frequently asked question is what new features and options are we working on for future builds ? My answer is, we are working on new and exciting things from creature comforts to bold and over the top new technology. One thing's for certain, Sunsation Powerboats has been doing it right for 40 years. With great ownership, dedicated employees, and our loyal customers, Sunsation is a force to be recon with in the powerboat industry.
